Consisting of two guided stops, the Bayou Bienvenue and the site of the levee breaches on Industrial Canal, the tour provides the opportunity to get a first-hand look at these unique locations and their devastating histories and hopeful futures. Topics of discussion will focus on environmental impacts and lessons-learned, detailing a variety of locations, including the Bayou Bienvenue Wetland Triangle, Industrial Canal (site of the levee breaches during Hurricane Katrina), the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, and others.
