Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson ( JMT) (Sparks, Maryland), an employee-owned architectural engi- neering group offering consulting and technology services for U.S. infrastructure projects, announced that Erik Olexa joined the team as coatings practice director. In this role, Olexa—who has extensive experience on transportation and infrastructure projects working with U.S. government and state transportation authorities—will lead a growing service line in structural steel coatings testing, evalua- tion, and inspection. Olexa, a certified con- struction manager with 20 years of experi- ence, sits on technical and specification writing committees for NACE International and the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania). He is the current vice chair of the NACE Eastern Area, as well as a member of NACE's nomi- nating committee. He has many technical certifications related to structural steel and concrete coatings, including NACE Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level 3 with bridge specialty. "His experience in coatings and involvement with NACE International is an exciting prospect for JMT," says Doug Rose, JMT's national practice lead for con- struction management and transportation.
