27 NACE INTERNATIONAL: VOL. 56, NO. 8 MATERIALS PERFORMANCE AUGUST 2017 Control Co. (Downey, California) intro- duced its Model AC-10 Portable AC Density Coupon/Probe. Used much like a portable reference electrode, the AC-10 is driven into the soil and functions like a perma- nent AC CD coupon. Being portable, the AC-10 coupon/probe can offer a cathodic protection technician, within minutes, a method to measure AC CD on demand. Tel: 1 888-532-7937, web site: w w w. farwestcorrosion.com. Environmentally Safe, Corrosion Inhibiting Film Corrosion prevention specialist Daubert Cromwell (Alsip, Illinois) released its Clear Pak BIO volatile corrosion inhibitor film as an environmentally safe, protec- tive packaging film for industry. The f lexible film uses proprietary, plant-based corrosion inhibitor chemistry proven effective for protecting valuable metal components during storage and shipment. Independent lab testing shows that the transparent, heat-sealable, recyclable film excels in rigorous testing to interna- tional standards. The film, which is resistant to punctures and tears, is designed to prevent corrosion on ferrous metals. Tel: +1 708-293-7750, web site: w w w.daubertcromwell.com. Corrosion Resistance for Extreme Temperatures The protective and marine coatings busi- ness of PPG Industries (Pittsburgh, Penn- sylvania) launched PPG HI-TEMP 900, its latest solution for application in extreme operating conditions. Resistant to tem- peratures ranging from –321 to 900 °F (–196 to 482 °C), the product offers multi- purpose, high-temperature corrosion protection w ith a ver y high speed of application and handling. Applicable as a primer, the coating offers a two-compo- nent product w ith complete crosslink curing at ambient temperatures. It can be topcoated w ith custom colors, while the ability to apply the coating in one coat prov ides excellent speed of applica- tion and handling in the shop. The coat- ing, which offers excellent ultrav iolet sta- bility to prevent the corrosion of non-insulated surfaces subject to atmo- spheric exposure, is also designed to pro- v ide superior surface corrosion resis- tance and prevent corrosion under insulation.
