U.S. Water Adds Treatment Supplier U.S. Water (St. Michael, Minnesota), a com- pany of ALLETE, Inc. (Duluth, Minnesota), announced the acquisition of Tonka Water (Plymouth, Minnesota), a major supplier of municipal and industrial water treatment systems. The acquisition allows the expanded company to boost its integrated water treatment equipment offerings and applications. Tonka Water's engineers cus- tomize water treatment solutions for a vari- ety of applications including surface water, groundwater, water reuse, industrial pro- cess water, remediation, and advanced wastewater treatment. "The addition strengthens our engineering and equip- ment capabilities and the integrated solu- tions we can offer our customers through- out the market," says U.S. Water CEO LaMarr Barnes, whose company serves a growing and diverse mix of more than 4,800 industrial customers. Graphene manufacturer and applicator Applied Graphene Materials (AGM) (Cleve- land, United Kingdom) hosted an open day for investors on August 22, 2017. During the day, visitors were shown around the pro- duction facilities and research laboratories by engineering director Neil Hindle and technical director William Weaver. The tour included observing graphene production and a visit to the company's A-GNP10 pro- duction facility and its newly constructed A-GNP35 production facility. The business also hosted Nick Smith, technical director for SHD Composites (Sleaford, United King- dom), an advanced composite materials company.
