MARTÍNEZ DE LA ESCALERA is the executive director of Corrosion y Proteccion Ingenieria S.C., Rio Nazas 6 Vista Hermosa, Cuernavaca, Morelos 62290, Mexico. He coordi- nates the design and implementation of CP systems, evaluates CP systems, and performs pipeline integrity analyses. He has a Ph.D. in materials technology, has authored numerous papers, and is a member of NACE. JORGE I. CANTO IBANEZ is an engineering director at Corrosion y Proteccion Ingenieria S.C. He manages and coordinates the design and implementation of CP systems, evaluates CP systems, and serves as a technical advisor for pipeline integrity analyses. He has a Ph.D. in materials technology, is a NACE- certified Cathodic Protection Specialist Level 4, and is chair of the NACE Central Mexico Section. He has authored numerous papers and is a member of NACE. LORENZO MARTÍNEZ-GÓMEZ is a professor of materials science and engineering at the Instituto de Ciencias Fisicas UNAM, Universidad 1001, Cuernavaca, Morelos, CP 62210, Mexico, e-mail: lmg.icf.unam@gmail.com. He is a NACE-certified Cathodic Protection Specialist Level 4 and has extensive research experience as well as development of engineering works in corrosion control in Mexico. He is the founder of Corrosion y Proteccion. A member of NACE, he has a Ph.D. in materials science from Stanford University and an M.Sc. in physics from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He received the Mexican National Award of Science and Technology, the Prize of Science and Technology of the Organization of American States, and a J.S. Guggenheim Fellowship.
