Winn & Coales was originally established as a business in London, England, in 1883 and the first petrolatum tape manufactured in the United Kingdom was Denso tape, manufactured under license by Winn & Coales (Denso) Limited. Denso tape was developed over 85 years ago for the "Long Life Protection" of buried steel pipelines against corrosion. Denso's SeaShield Marine Systems include fiberglass forms, epoxy grouts, underwater epoxies, injectable epoxies, petrolatum tape wrap systems, and much more. With over 40 years of proven experience in protecting tanks worldwide, Denso manufactures a full line of tank linings and coatings. (EDI) has been providing a variety of products for monitoring and controlling corrosion for over 30 years. Our primary expertise is stationary reference electrodes that continuously monitor the potential of a structure. Changes in potential measurements alert the user to possible problems with the corrosion control system. Our reference electrodes have the longest demonstrated service lives in the industry. EDI also offers specialty products for process vessels, condensers, and aboveground storage tanks. Our Model FE (top photo) is a transition bridge for vessels with elevated temperatures, pressures, or contaminated electrolytes. Using it will increase the life of the reference electrode by 10-20 times that of direct placement into the environment. Another unique product is the Model UC (bottom photo). It is a patented concentric cathodic protection coupon that provides IR-free potential measurements without the necessity for interrupting local current sources. e standard design includes a DC coupon with or without a permanently installed reference electrode. It can also be acquired with an optional AC coupon. EDI offers other specialty products that satisfy unique service requirements. Included are impressed current anodes—linear distributed, probe type, and low profile—as well as maintenance-free portable reference electrodes. In addition, we will develop custom products to meet the requirements of a particular application.
