Mears has recently added new service packages in the area of NDE/NDE services. This year, Mears has committed to expand its ultrasonic testing capabilities to include both traditional shear-wave and phased array ultrasonic testing techniques. These techniques allow Mears UT technicians to detect and size anomalies found in girth welds, long-seam welds, and the base metal of natural gas and petroleum pipelines for SCC and environmentally assisted cracking. These testing capabilities have been available since early July of 2018. In its continuing commitment to ensure trained, quali- fied, and certified field staff, a total of 27 Mears techni- cians are certified to ASNT Level II in Magnetic Particle and Ultrasonic Testing methods. 4500 North Mission Rd.
