13 MATERIALS PERFORMANCE: VOL. 57, NO. 11 NOVEMBER 2018 about new innovations in the leak detec- tion sector and the impact the company is making in the global water conservation effort. Guests moved between five sta- tions—each covering a short presentation about the company's history and mis- sion—along with an overview of their pat- ented technology, previous U.S. case stud- ies, and an upcoming pilot project in San Diego, where the company will provide 100 points of interest signifying possible leaks. The company describes itself as the world's only leak detection provider using satellite remote sensing, which contrib- utes to the conservation of water. Utilis says it chose San Diego for its second outpost due to the availability of quality talent, the strong support for the "blue technology" sector, and the state's interest in water conservation.
