21 MATERIALS PERFORMANCE: VOL. 57, NO. 11 NOVEMBER 2018 form and Inductosense's Wireless and Non Destructive (WAND) technolog y, and can be retrospectively installed and imple- mented within the harshest of environ- ments. While in those environments, it can acquire quantitative wall thickness data within minutes; users can then remotely analyze this data and report it through the cloud-based system. Addi- tionally, the TRND system offers intrinsi- cally safe ultrasonic thickness measure- ments in Zone 0 environments up to 350 °C (660 °F) without duty cycling. At 1.2 kg, this lightweight device can be deployed any where, including elbows and via rope access, with absolute thickness better than 0.1 mm across the tempera- ture range. (Ennis, Texas, USA) introduced the RD-6 UVO overcoat, a single-component, low volatile organic compound coating that is resistant to the effects of ultraviolet rays. This overcoat protects aboveground pipeline assets, including field joints, girth welds, valves, and fittings, that have been treated with Polyguard's RD-6 anticorrosion coatings. It can also be applied over multiple coat- ing types, such as fusion-bonded epoxy coatings on steel pipes used in pipeline construction, concrete reinforcing bars, and on various piping connections. The RD-6 UVO overcoat protects the coating from degradation via direct exposure to sunlight, thus ensuring maximum protec- tion in high-risk environments. This water-based liquid coating is environmen- tally friendly and moisture resistant, with excellent adhesion characteristics, includ- ing fast touch, drying, and cure times. It can be applied with a brush, roller, or air- less spray method, and should be kept at a minimum temperature of 65 °F (18 °C). Ideal conditions for applying the overcoat successfully include humidity <85% and temperature >5 °F (3 °C) above the dew point. Tel: +1 214-515-5000, web site: w w w.polyguardproducts.com.
