CORROSION 2016 RECAP 66 JUNE 2016 MATERIALS PERFORMANCE NACE INTERNATIONAL: VOL. 55, NO. 6 Monday, March 7, 2016 Exhibit Hall Grand Opening The Younger Generation Concludes Monday Evening at 30 Below The grand opening of the Exhibit Hall, 64,600 ft2 (6,000 m2) of exhibit space that showcased 377 exhibitors, including 69 new exhibiting companies, followed a full schedule of meetings on the second day of CORROSION 2016. At this event—one of the highlights of the annual conference—attendees had their first opportunity to see the latest technologies, products, and services designed for corrosion control and prevention, as well as meet and talk with representatives from exhibiting companies. The Exhibit Hall's increasingly popular cathodic protection (CP) field gave visitors the opportunity to conduct field experiments using the most uptodate test equipment. From left to right: Sandy Williamson, Steve Kroft, and Jim Feather cut the ribbon to offcially open the CORROSION 2016 Exhibition. During the Expo Grand Opening, conference attendees explore the latest products and technologies in the Exhibit Hall. NACE staff member Denis Weimer (right) helps a visitor test an aboveground isolation joint on a cathodically protected pipeline in the CP feld. Attendees try their hand at sliding "stones" during the Curling Tournament in the Exhibit Hall. Younger corrosion professionals (under 30 years old) continued the Monday evening tradition of their own night out—with dancing, karaoke, and mechanical bull rides at the 30 Below event at The Bourbon country bar in Vancouver's Gastown.
