Katharine "Kathie" Morgan is now serving as the new president of global standards develop- ment organization ASTM Interna- tional (West Con- shohocken, Penn- sylvania). In that role, Morgan will lead a team that supports thousands of members, custom- ers, partners, and other stakeholders. She succeeds James A. Thomas, who served in the role for 25 years. "I am thrilled and humbled to serve as president of an organi- zation that has played such a foundational role in meeting societal needs for over a century," says Morgan. She is a 33-year veteran of ASTM International, having served as executive vice president for the past two years. Prior to that, she was vice president of the operations technical com- mittee, where she led a 50-member team that supported the volunteer work of ASTM International's 30,000 worldwide members. Fletcher Joins ASTM International Board John Fletcher, technical support manager for Elcometer (Manchester, United King- dom), will serve a three-year term on the board of directors for industry standards organization ASTM International (West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania). Based in Manchester, Fletcher has worked with Elcometer since 1982 and represents the company at ASTM meetings. A member of ASTM since 2007, Fletcher is currently serving as vice chairman of the group's committee on paint and related coatings, materials, and applications. Fletcher is also a member of NACE International, SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), and is a Fellow of the Institute of Corrosion (Northamp- ton, United Kingdom), where he served as president from 2015 to 2016. Castolin Eutectic Acquires Furnace Mineral Products The Castolin Eutectic Group (Lausanne, Switzerland), a division of Messer Eutectic Castolin GmbH Holding (Bad Soden, Ger- many), announced the acquisition of pri- vately owned Furnace Mineral Products, Inc. (FMP) (Toronto, Ontario, Canada). FMP specializes in the research, develop- ment, manufacture, and field application of inorganic-hybrid coatings.
