His primary research areas include stress corrosion cracking, pipeline integ- rity, and materials characterization. He has 15 years of experience in pipeline corro- sion, has a Ph.D. in metallurgy and materi- als science, and has published more than 40 papers. ELICEO SOSA HERNANDEZ is a researcher at the Instituto Mexicano de Petroleo, email: esosa@imp.mx. He has 15 years of experience in chemistry engineering, materials science, and electrochemistry.
