Professional Development at Every Career Level NACE courses are designed for contin- ued, career-long professional development and may be taken as standalone training or as a part of the path toward achieving certification. NACE's course catalog includes subjects that range from general corrosion content to industry-specific top- ics. There are even six online courses to choose from, offering students the flexibil- ity to study at their own pace and on their own time. The newest online course, Math for the Coatings Professional, provides a refresher for the calculations that painters and coatings professionals use in their day-to-day jobs. Registering for a five-day or longer course with NACE includes a complemen- tary one-year NACE membership ( for non- members), opening the door to networking opportunities and discounts on books, standards, and conference registration fees. Computer-Based Testing As a key priority in maintaining the quality and credibility of our certifications by following the latest developments in examination standards, the NII constantly strives to stay at the forefront of testing security to ensure the integrity of the certi- fication process. In 2016, the Institute introduced computer-based testing (CBT) for written certification exams. Addition- ally, CBT offers flexible scheduling and instant exam results, and certification candidates can choose from more than 6,000 testing locations in 165 countries around the world. The program offers the peace of mind that the NII is doing all it can to protect the integrity and value of each certification.
