Corrosion Coatings Group Named as Promising Startup Corrosion coatings group Tesla NanoCoat- ings (Massillon, Ohio) was named on the CNBC network's inaugural Upstart 25 list of promising startup companies. The com- pany invented, developed, produces, and markets Teslan, a revolutionary two-coat coating that fights corrosion in oil and gas, industrial, military, infrastructure, transpor- tation, and other high-performance applica- tions with a carbon nanotube formulation. The product also saves time and money for users and applicators due to its wet-on-wet process. The CNBC startup list includes companies from five countries and eight U.S. states. Ashland Launches North American Corrosion Science Center Ashland (Covington, Kentucky) has launched the Ashland Corrosion Science Center (ACSC) in Dublin, Ohio as a new cen- ter to support corrosion applications based on fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP). The ACSC is a forum where industry partners, end-users, design engineers, and fabricators can work with the company's corrosion team to grow the profitability and usability of FRP composites in corrosion-resistant applica- tions. The focus of the center is to define the efficacy of FRP in new applications, as well as support customers in existing FRP indus- tries such as chemical processing, oil and gas, mineral processing, and pollution con- trol. Commercial and technical experts at the center will solve customer problems through extensive laboratory and field cor- rosion testing, combined with real-world case studies.
