Contractor Awards Program CoatingsPro Magazine is again recognizing industry excellence in the application of commercial and industrial high-performance coatings with the second annual Contractor Awards Program. Join us on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in the Orange Corrosive Chronicles Theater. We will be announcing the accomplishments of the 2018 winners in six categories: § Commercial Concrete § Commercial Roof § Industrial Concrete § Industrial Steel § Specialty Project § Contractor/Crew MVP For more information, contact: CoatingsPro Magazine, www.coatingspromag.com. Regulatory Challenges and Some Developments in Rail and Transportation Coatings Technology Presented by: Shiwei William Guan Increased regulatory requirements on health, safety, and the environment has imposed many challenges on the protective coating technology in many industrial sectors, including rail and transportation. The coating industry has been responding to these challenges and new product and technology developments are being made. The presentation outlines some of these challenges and highlights a few new developments by the rail and transportation coating industry in the area of high and/or 100% solids, low volatile organic compounds, low emission, low hazardous air pollutants, isocyanate-free coatings, and fire protection. Utilizing Real Data to Improve the Accuracy and Utility of the Integrity Management Risk Assessment for Corrosion Related Threat Presented by: Kevin Cowan and Eric Nelson, Dominion Energy Questar Pipelines In accordance with 49 CFR Part 192 Subpart O, pipeline operators are required to conduct a risk assessment of threats in covered segments. In 2014 as part of a continuous improvement process Dominion Energy Questar Companies (previously Questar) launched an initiative to improve the risk score accuracy and ultimately the usefulness of the existing risk assessment process. This forum will detail the changes that were made to the algorithms and data related to the external corrosion and internal corrosion threat risk assessments. The presenters will briefly describe the risk requirements in B31.8S and Subpart O and explain how by going beyond the minimum standards more accurate results and more effective actions could be achieved. They will talk about how the algorithms were optimized and how new data sources were integrated, including data from other underground stakeholders and Questar's SCADA and IM programs. Lastly, they will describe those areas that will continue to improve and how these improvements will help increase safety and performance. Corrosive Chronicles How the contest works: 1. Attendees will have to visit your booth and all other High Rollin' for a Harley Sponsors. 2. Once they have collected all of the cards from all of the sponsors, they will submit the entry form to the location of the Harley on the show fl oor. 3. The drawing will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM. Interested in sponsoring? nacecorrosion.org/sponsorships#Networking HIGH ROLLIN' FOR A HARLEY Sponsored by: Grillo, NIICAP, & Denso
