Employees from Qatar Petroleum attended a recent Basic Corrosion course in Doha, Qatar.

he NACE Basic Corrosion course was recently presented in Qatar. Eighteen participants took part and 16 took the optional examination. With one exception, all participants were from Qatar Petroleum (QP).
The sponsor of the course was Qatar Petroleum Technical Centre (QPTC) based in Doha, and the instructor was Colin Britton, who lives in the United Kingdom. Qatar (known as the State of Qatar) is located in the Middle East on a pen-
insula extending into the Gulf, bordering with Saudi Arabia. The NACE Doha Qatar Section is located here. In the last census (2010), the population was recorded at 1.8 million. Qatar Petroleum is the state oil company. The country has oil reserves estimated at 15 billion bbl (2,385 billion L) while gas reserves are estimated to be between 80 and 800 trillion ft3
