Throughout his research career, he has used a thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of chemical engineering and physical chemistry to arrive at insights that have led to the development of new products. His current research focuses on the development of top-of-the-line corrosion inhibitors and new H2S scavengers. A member of NACE International since 1996, Dr. Ramachandran has a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Colorado State University and was a post-doctoral research fellow at Caltech from 1994 to 1996. He was the NACE Corrosion Science and Technology Coordinator from 2011 to 2013 and has authored three highly cited papers published in Langmuir and Corrosion. VLADIMIR JoVANCICEVIC is a technical advisor at Baker Hughes, Inc. He is involved with research and development management of upstream chemicals development programs in the areas of integrity management and production optimization for the oil and gas industry. He has an M.Sc. degree in physical chemistry and a Ph.D. in surface electrochemistry. He has been a member of NACE for 25 years. PATRICk RoDgERS is a research scientist at Baker Hughes, Inc., e-mail: patrick.rodgers@bakerhughes.com. His experience includes developing high-shear corrosion inhibitors designed for sweet conditions and extreme cold temperature stability. He has a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry/electrochemistry and is a member of NACE. IBRAHEEM A. AHMED is a petroleum engineer, previously with Texas A&M; University and currently employed by Chevron, 1400 Smith St., Houston, TX 77002, e-mail: ibraheem@chevron. com. His experience includes hydraulic fracturing, acidizing, and corrosion, and he is working on shale gas development at Chevron. He has B.S. and M.S. degrees in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M; University. MASLAT AL-WARANBI is an upstream corrosion engineer in the Materials Engineering and Corrosion Control Division of the Consulting Services Dept. at Saudi Aramco, Po Box 6738, Dhahran 31311, Saudi Arabia, e-mail: maslat. waranbi@aramco.com. He has a B.Sc. degree in chemical engineering from king Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and an M.A.Sc. degree in metals and materials engineering from the University of British Columbia. He has worked in the area of corrosion control, monitoring, and management for more than 13 years. He is an eight-year member of NACE and is a NACE-certifed Senior Corrosion Technologist.
